Mindbreeze InSite: The First Steps

It's been mentioned a few times already on this blog how important it is for you and your customers to find content on your website. What you maybe don't know however, is that it only takes a few minutes for you to register your site for Mindbreeze InSite and to tailor InSite to your individual needs. Let us show you here how quickly and effortlessly you can make your life easier. You can also find tutorial videos for the steps shown below.

To register for the free Mindbreeze InSite test, visit our homepage at

Here you just need to enter your e-mail address, name and website URL and the entered site is indexed. If you already have an account then click on the link "Use my existing Folio Cloud account". Simply log in with your account details and enter the URL you want to test. You then receive a link to your personal demo page - here you can already try out your search and find content.

Here's the first part of the tutorial video:

Create views

You've tested the search but would like to refine and simplify the results a little bit for your visitors in advance. No problem: let us introduce you to individual search tabs.

You can create search tabs quickly and easily on your demo page. in the first tab the results from all data are displayed. To refine the search, just enter the searched word into the search field. All the results are displayed. If these results should now be displayed in a separate tab, you just have to click on the "plus" symbol next to the existing search tab, enter a name for the new tab and click on "add search tab". All the results for this topic are then displayed under this search tab and a new search only searches in restricted data. This restriction can be carried out as often as you want by clicking on the "all" tab again.

Was that too quick for you? You can find the explanation along with examples in part 2 of our tutorial video:

Setting up and facets

Through facets you can refine your search results even further by restricting the results to a specific year, for example. More details on facets have already been covered in this blog.

You can find this blog post here

Facets are incredibly easy to edit in Mindbreeze InSite. In the search result field on your demo page simply click on the right area next to the results list. Here you can see the button "edit facets". The available facets are displayed in grey, the selected facets in black. By clicking on the "plus" symbol in top right corner, you can select additional facets. Once you have added the desired facets, click on "apply" and you can already use the selected facets in the search.

Information pairing

What is information pairing? You can find the answer to this question here

Here you can find out how easily you can use information pairing for your website. In the navigation bar of your demo page you can find the tab "information pairing". If you select this tab, an editor window appears where you can enter all the content that should be integrated into your website. All desired elements are saved as tags in the grey editor field. Via the menu bar "Insert Property" all the breadcrumbs available to you are displayed. You can of course also add additional information as text and format the individual elements.

Embedding Fabasoft Mindbreeze InSite

Now you know how you can individually shape your search. Now it's time to embed your search into your site so that your visitors can also use it. This takes a matter of seconds. On the demo page you can find the "Code Snippets". Once you've decided where you want the search field to be on your site, copy this code snippet and paste it into the corresponding point in your source code. The second section of code needs to be pasted before the source code section. Save. And the search is already displayed on your website. You can see this last step in our 5th tutorial video!
