Fabasoft Mindbreeze Mobile (eng, Spring 2011)

Installation prerequisites

  1. Fabasoft Mindbreeze Enterprise is installed
  2. "Fabasoft Mindbreeze Mobile" is licensed (and part of your license).

Standard mobile client

The Fabasoft Mindbreeze - Mobile Client is specially tailored for the restricted screen sizes and special haptic requirements of modern touch mobiles. Therefore, by default (that is, due to the default User-Agent Pattern) iPhones, iPods, Android mobile devices will use the standard mobile client. You start simply by entering your query in the search field.
After submitting the search, a result list will appear beneath the search field, providing only the most important information (document title and modification date). Simply scroll down the list using standard touch gestures to locate the document of your interest.
Tapping a document in the result list, a document details page will come up, showing the metadata and contents of that document. Simply touching the "Results" button will take you back to the result list.

Throughout the user interface, terms in the text matching your query will be highlighted to provide awareness of all the relevant passages in the text.
If more results are available than displayed, the last element in the result list is a button "Load more results ...". After clicking that button, a search for more documents will be started in the background. As soon as they're available, the button will disappear and be replaced by those results.
On the bottom of the result list, there's a "Sources" button on the left side, which leads to a page where one can activate and deactivate the data sources to search in.

Blackberry minimobile client

As BlackBerry devices have more limited resources (compared to iPhones etc.), there is a minimobile client with reduced bandwidth usage.

Appendix A - Configuration of mobile devices

In the Management Interface, switch to the "Client Services" tab.

Then click on the "Advanced" checkbox and locate the "Mobile Client User-Agent Pattern". This option defines which User-Agents are redirected to the mobile client based on a regular expression pattern. User-Agents not matching that pattern are not redirected, but instead use the regular web client.
