More time for programming through automated tests: For the first time, the Austrian software manufacturer Fabasoft presents the test tool app.test for Mac OS-X. Based on Eclipse, the application performs automated tests for web pages, shops and even Java applications.
Developing web applications is an exciting and creative task. Testing them is less popular, being time consuming and mainly performed under severe time limits. Fabasoft app.test is the innovative solution that significantly reduces the required manual test input – now also for Mac users.
Dr Michael Amann, Product Owner of app.test with Fabasoft, explains: “The big advantage of this application: it can be used without any programming skills. With app.test, any Mac user can start recording tests immediately and monitor the quality of web applications in automated mode. Fabasoft app.test is set apart from other products as it acts as a real user and interacts with the application via the browser”.
Tests can run on several platforms in automated mode - an important feature, as almost any combination of platform and browser is possible on the Internet. At the end of the test runs, results are summarized and presented in transparent reports. These contain all necessary details, including screenshots, for the correction of any identified problems. The free starter edition, app.test primo, is available for downloading at www.apptest.com.
